At least 11 people,
including Awami National Party (ANP) leaders Bashir Umarzai and
Zafarullah Khan, were injured in a remote-controlled bomb blast near
their convoy, Express News reported on Saturday.
The injured were taken to a hospital in Charsaddah, but later, four of them were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) in Peshawar.
According to reports, former provincial minister Umarzai, along with his convoy, was on his way to a court appearance when the incident took place.
The bomb was planted under a bridge near Khan Garhi and went off as the convoy passed by, injuring 11 including Umarzai, former district nazim Zafarullah Khan and two policemen.
The intensity of the bomb could not be ascertained as yet, but police officials confirmed it was a remote controlled bomb.
