Islamabad—Naheeda Mehboob Elahi Foundation (NMEF) Islamabad Chapter in collaboration with Asia Foundation on Friday donated library books to Islamabad Bar Association.
The books were presented by Chairperson NMEF Islamabad Chapter, Shahida Sukhera Advocate and were received by General Secretary Islamabad Bar Association, Ayub Arbab Gujr on behalf of the bar.
The books handing over ceremony was held at Wajid Gilani Hall District Courts Islamabad and presided over by District and Sessions Judge Raja Jawad.
A large number of lawyers attended the ceremony.
The foundation is working in memory of Naheeda Mehboob Elahi who was a legend in the profession of law and also rendered services for legal reforms, social work especially on human rights and women rights. She also rendered services as first female deputy attorney general in Supreme Court of Pakistan.
NMEF is working in different cities of the country including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi and Bhera with
objective of providing free legal aid and awareness to needy and deserving people as well as in sector of education, health and for rights of special persons in society.
